The Architecture of Drape: Haute Couture Textiles
Fabriclicious, a venture of Mithila Enterprises, sells single-bolt natural textiles to couturiers and tailoring houses: French Normandy linens, Como silk satins and Yorkshire worsted wools, in the brand's own catalogue copy.
Selling cloth online meant handling fractional cuts from 0.5m in 0.1m steps, keeping every cut on one roll and dye lot so a garment never needs a spliced length, and letting buyers sample a weave before they commit to yardage.
Panarch Digital built the storefront, data model and admin studio on Next.js 15 (App Router, server actions) with Supabase Postgres and row-level security on every table; fabriclicious.com is served from Vercel.
- A fractional cut engine: a 0.5m minimum and 0.1m steps enforced by Postgres CHECK constraints and the UI stepper alike, capped at 50m per cut or the remaining stock.
- Allocate_continuous_fabric_cut(), a Postgres function that takes a SELECT ... FOR UPDATE lock on the best-fit single roll (each roll carries its dye lot) and flags remnants under 0.8m.
- A swatch credit ledger that records each 10x10cm swatch fee as a credit of equal value toward later yardage, with the swatch drawer capped at 5.
- A 400% Macro Weave Loupe drawn on canvas, with a 160px lens and crosshair reticle.
- A Gemini 2.5 Flash atelier concierge with inventory-lookup and order-tracking function calls, a WhatsApp Cloud API support inbox, and Razorpay webhooks verified with HMAC-SHA256. Type pairs Playfair Display, Inter and JetBrains Mono, and the brand emblem is packaged into horizontal, stacked, light-on-dark and rosette-only lockups.

Continuous Yardage & Atelier Commerce
Panarch Digital engineered the Fabriclicious commerce platform end to end: a Postgres single-bolt roll allocator with row-level locks, a 0.5m / 0.1m fractional cut engine, a swatch credit ledger, and a Gemini-powered atelier concierge.
Single bolt
A Postgres function allocates each cut from one tracked roll and dye lot under a SELECT … FOR UPDATE row lock, and flags remnants under 0.8m.
0.5m / 0.1m
0.5m minimum in 0.1m steps, enforced by database CHECK constraints and the cut selector, up to 50m per cut and guarded against yardage already in the cart.
5 per drawer
Customer credit ledger (Postgres + RLS) that records each swatch fee as an equal credit toward later yardage; up to 5 swatches per drawer.
400%
DPR-aware canvas loupe with a 160px lens and crosshair reticle that redraws only on pointer movement, for inspecting weave and grainline before ordering.
Continuous Yardage, Weave Loupe & Swatch Ledger Walkthrough
Single-bolt continuous yardage, 0.5m+ cuts in 0.1m steps, the 400% Macro Weave Loupe, the swatch credit ledger and the Gemini atelier concierge on fabriclicious.com.
Delivered the atelier platform: a Supabase-backed catalogue and journal, the fractional cut engine, a Razorpay webhook that refunds the buyer and sends an apology email if a cut is lost to an inventory race, a WhatsApp and Gemini support inbox, and an admin studio where Gemini 2.5 Pro drafts product specs and SEO copy.
Checkout is the next build phase: the cart and payment webhook are built, but the /checkout page is not live yet. Repository history: 22 commits, 26 September to 26 October 2026.
